Coe College’s enlisted Streamline to improve dormitory restrooms in Green Hall while respecting the integrity of the existing historic architectural features.
Coe College Green Residence Hall was built in 1938 and retains many historic architectural features. But its restrooms, utility room, and hallway electric water cooler alcoves needed rehabilitation. Streamline engaged in design feedback workshops with the college’s student body to understand current factors of importance. Our design intent was to perform a major remodeling while respecting the integrity of the existing architectural features.
Items like doors and finishes in most areas match the historic profile. Additionally, new soffits were framed to hide utilities. We worked hard to patch and repair existing terracotta masonry walls carefully, and without the repairs standing out as against other sections.
