We struck a balance between modern convenience and historic preservation in the partial renovation of Coe College’s Murray Residence Hall.
Coe College In Cedar Rapids, Iowa enlisted our help to rehab this high-rise residence hall built in 1966, focusing on its restrooms, utility room, and hallway electric water cooler alcoves. Streamline engaged in design feedback workshops with the college’s student body to understand current factors of importance.
This nine-story residence hall required major renovation and rehabilitation from long-term water damage. The design intent was to upgrade doors, fixtures, floors and wall materials. Patching and repair of existing walls was performed as required. The design emphasized a modern look and incorporated sustainable solutions.
