Streamline Architects is a project manager based Architecture firm located in East Moline, IL and Iowa City, IA.  Project Manager based, meaning in lieu of the traditional hierarchy established in Architecture firms, we believe that the Architects and Interior designers should be considered project managers, whether small or large projects, or assisting other project managers.  This allows employees to shine, build experience, and to avoid hitting that famous ceiling throughout the Architecture profession!

As an Architect, you will work alongside the owner of the company, you will mentor other team members, perform initial design work, perform construction document and design reviews, and oversee project performance. You should have strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of building codes, and the ability to think creatively on small and large projects.

To be successful as a Architect, you should display great interpersonal skills and be able to relay important information. An outstanding Senior Architect should also be open to criticism and learning opportunities.

Architect Job Responsibilities:

• Develop a design through programming and listening to the client’s needs.

• Reviewing and designing architectural design and construction documents.

• Ensuring all plans are compliant with the building codes and zoning ordinances having jurisdiction.

• Monitoring the work of other Architects and making recommendations as required.

• Strong familiarity with Design/Build project methodologies. 

• Ability to work with contractors to develop the best design solutions that meet the owner’s budget, schedule, and aesthetics.

• Providing guidance to construction teams and helping them interpret design specifications.

• Liaising with clients to ensure all issues are addressed in a timely manner, and that project requirements are met.

• Ensuring the team works together to achieve set goals and targets.

• Acting as a mentor to new Architects and helping them fine-tune their design skills and improve their industry knowledge.

• Networking and consulting with various industry professionals.

Architect Requirements:

• Accredited Bachelor's Degree in Architecture.

• MA Degree in Architecture is preferable.

• Licensed Architect in Iowa, Illinois or NCARB certified

• 5+ years of work experience as an Architect.

• Diverse project portfolio consisting of hospitality, residential, office, retail, and Education.

• Willingness to work overtime as required.

• Excellent leadership and communication skills.

• Brilliant interpersonal and networking skills.

• Detail-oriented and highly analytical.

• In-depth understanding of Autodesk software.

• Deadline-driven and dedicated to excellence.
