Project Manager - Architectural Designer | Quad Cities or Iowa City

Streamline Architects is a project manager based Architecture firm located in East Moline, IL and Iowa City, IA.  Project Manager based, meaning in lieu of the traditional hierarchy established in Architecture firms, we believe that the Architects and Interior designers should be considered project managers, whether small or large projects, or assisting other project managers.  This allows employees to shine, build experience, and to avoid hitting that famous ceiling throughout the Architecture profession!

The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing projects from conceptual design to the time the project opens its doors. The project manager will begin with smaller projects and assist the more experienced project managers and Architects with the larger projects.  As a project manager, you will work alongside a team of project managers, architects, and interior designers, and will report directly to the studio director and owner.   Project Managers perform initial design work, create construction documents, perform construction administration and oversee project performance. You should have strong leadership skills, knowledge of construction practices, and the ability to think creatively on small and large projects.

To be successful as a Project Manager, you should display great interpersonal skills and be able to relay important information. An outstanding Project Manager should also be open to criticism and learning opportunities.

Project Manager Job Responsibilities:

• Develop a design through programming and listening to the client’s needs.

• Ability to develop architectural design and construction documents for review by the studio direct and Principal Architect.

• Familiarity with Design/Build project methodologies. 

• Ability to work with contractors to develop the best design solutions that meet the owner’s budget, schedule, and aesthetics.

• Providing guidance to construction teams and helping them interpret design specifications.

• Liaising with clients to ensure all issues are addressed in a timely manner, and that project requirements are met.

• Manage the project’s design schedule, meet deadlines and ensure the client receives the best A/E service possible.

• Ensuring the team works together to achieve set goals and targets.

Project Manager / Project Architect Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Bachelor’s in Architectural Studies

• MA Degree in Architecture is preferable.

• Work experience in a design or architecture practice is preferred.

• Diverse project portfolio consisting of hospitality, residential, office, retail, and education.

• Willingness to work overtime as required.

• Eager to listen, learn, and grow your architectural skill sets and career.

• Brilliant interpersonal and networking skills.

• Detail-oriented and highly analytical.

• In-depth understanding of Autodesk software (Revit).

• In-depth understanding of Sketchup & Lumion design software.

• Deadline-driven and dedicated to excellence.
